Humanity is Awaiting its Saviour

Man has been grinding in the mill of oppression for thousands of years. Generations have passed, many nations have come and gone, many thrones have been established and many have been overturned, but man has been waiting for a saviour who will free them from the slavery of creation towards the obedience of the Creator. The echo of this need reached Allah SWT and Allah SWT promised us thousands of years ago:

وَلَقَدْ كَتَبْنَا فِى ٱلزَّبُورِ مِن بَعْدِ ٱلذِّكْرِ أَنَّ ٱلْأَرْضَ يَرِثُهَا عِبَادِىَ ٱلصَّٰلِحُونَ ^[1](الانبیاء۔ ۱۰۵)

“And indeed, we have written in the Zabūr after the “Zikr” (referring to the Torah or the books of all the Prophets) that (eventually) the inheritors of the earth will be My righteous servants”.

Zaboor was revealed to Hazrat Dawood A.S (King David). At that time Bani Israel used to be the favorite nation of Allah SWT. Allah SWT mentioned this honor and said:

یٰبَنِیْ اِسْرَآءِیْلَ اذْكُرُوْا نِعْمَتِیَ الَّتِیْ اَنْعَمْتُ عَلَیْكُمْ وَ اَنِّیْ فَضَّلْتُكُمْ عَلَى الْعٰلَمِیْنَ ^[2](البقره۔ ۱۲۲)

“O children of Israel! Remember My favor, which I bestowed on you, and that I have indeed given you superiority over the worlds.”

Being the most cherished nation, and due to Allah’s countless rewards, the Israelites assumed that they are promised the inheritance of the land, no matter what they do. In the same pride, they also denied the Final Messenger Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) that why he (peace be upon him) did not come from Bani Israel.

According to a saying, 700,000 years have passed since man came to this world ^[3]According to Muhammad Qasim Ibn Abdul Karim.

During these seven hundred thousand years, man has been waiting for his saviour. First, Hazrat Adam (A.S.) and later Hazrat Noah (A.S.) became the forefathers of mankind, therefore, all the people living in the world are the descendants of Prophets (A.S.). But due to the long-term distance from Prophethood, the followers of the prophets have been divided into good and evil. Most of them are following their own desires and worshiping Satan has been their way of life.

A large number of people have crossed all limits of disobedience and have become open enemies of Allah SWT. Hindus associate idols carved from stones with Allah SWT, while Jews became enemies of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) – even though they knew that Muhammad ﷺ was the Final Messenger of Allah.

The Christians have also gone astray by assuming the Messiah elevated from the rank of servants to the son of God. The non-Abrahamic religions and the atheist people have either been victims of blatant negligence or have completely denied the existence of Allah SWT. In the meantime, the majority of humanity is still aware of the existence of God, but the evils of Satan (Iblis) and the delusions of the soul have distanced man from the Oneness of the Most Merciful.

Just as man has not completely forgotten the existence of God; similarly, almost all religions still believe in a saviour. But this divine promise became “Kalki Avatar” in the land of India and Buddhism gave him the name “Maitreya”. While the Jews are still waiting for the Messiah who will fulfil the promise made in the Zabūr – even though the Messiah was already sent to them, and the Jews killed him on their behalf.

Now the question arises that when this saviour will come towards the end of the world, in whose favor will he really be the savior; and what cruelty and brutality will he destroy?

Will the Kalki avatar conquer Hinduism and make all humans worship idols?
Or will the Christian Messiah come and deliver mankind to the Trinity?
Or will the Moshiach come to destroy everyone but the jews?
Or will there be a servant of Allah SWT, who will break all the idols, eliminate all the false gods, and free the servants of the Lord from all slavery?

Also, another question arises – will the ultimate saviour wipe out the small false gods one by one; will he eliminate the false kingdoms one by one? Or will all of the falsehood gather under one flag and stand against the truth?

We find the answers to those questions in the final religion – and the true religion, that is, the religion of Muhammad ﷺ:

The religion that Adam (A.S.) and all Prophets afterwards brought was Islam. Allah has been changing the rules of the Shariah in different ages and eras according to the circumstances and events, but the basic principle has always remained the same, that is,

“قولوا لا اله الا الله تفلحوا“

(Confess the Oneness of Allah SWT and you will be successful)

This religion was eventually perfected in the form of Muhammadan religion and conveyed to humanity as ‘Islam’. Now this religion is the religion of truth, and its obligatory upon all human beings to follow it.

After the revelation of the Muhammadan religion, after its truth was established, the Muhammadan religion and its followers were declared to be The Truth and everything else became invalid.

Kalki Avatar, Messiah, or Maitreya must come, but it is no longer a single entity, but due to the continuous disobedience of humans, a false Messiah will be sent to represent the people of falsehood, who will claim divinity, and all the people of falsehood will join his ranks; and then Allah, the Most Merciful, will send down the true Messiah from heaven to uproot all falsehood, including this false Messiah:

1. Antichrist i.e. False Messiah or Dajjal

Due to the continuous disobedience of humans, Allah will send a being to test such selfish people. This living being will apparently fulfil the desires of humans, promise them eternal life, maximise their desires and lust.

All the disbelievers; the disobedient ones; the tyrants; those who consider temporary life to be the final life; those who worship idols instead of Allah; those who associate children with Allah SWT; and all those who deny the truth will accept this living being as God. The Final Prophet Muhammad ﷺ has described this character as Masih Al-Dajjal i.e Antichrist. Masih Al-Dajjal or Dajjal Akbar will actually gather falsehood under one banner, which will include most of humanity.

2. The True Messiah i.e. Jesus (PBUH)

Although, like the Jinns, the majority of humans have also adopted the path of disobedience; however, the case of human beings is far better than that of the Jinns. Righteous men have existed in every era and in every age – even though they have been really scarce.

Only the true devotees deserve the privilege of gathering under the banner of the true Saviour. These few people have actually been victims of the oppression of falsehood and these poor people have always been called unjust despite being on the right path. These are the monotheist, who live and die for the sake of Allah SWT. And these are the ones who are actually promised the true leadership of the world.

Now the promise of the Zabūr has reached the people of Islam in this form:

وَعَدَ اللّٰهُ الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا مِنْكُمْ وَ عَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَیَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِی الْاَرْضِ ^[4](سورة النور. ٥٥)

(Allah has promised those among you, who believe and do good deeds that He will certainly give them the Caliphate in the earth).

This caliphate will be established under the leadership of Jesus Christ son of Marry (Maryam A.S). 

Isa (A.S.) will come back from heaven by the order of Allah and take a good account of:
– those who thought they had killed him;
– those who associate idols with God;
– those who have accused Christ himself of being the son of Allah;
– and also those who have been denying the existence of God.

All those would accept Antichrist as their God. Therefore, the true Messiah i.e. Jesus, the son of Marry will punish them all.

3. Imam Mahdi (The Guided One)

Preparations for the arrival of Dajjal-e-Akbar (Antichrist) have always been there.

Power has been intoxicated with disbelief, cruelty and brutality since the beginning of time. On the other hand, truth has always been oppressed – sometime as Abel getting killed unjustly, and other times as Joseph (Yusuf A.S.) getting crushed in the mill of imprisonment and slavery; sometimes as getting stoned in the valley of Taif, and other times as getting slaughtered in Karbala.

Therefore, before the arrival of the saviour, there must be some preparation for strengthening the righteous, and the way for the Messiah must be paved.

The Messiah, presence was the mercy for the poor, who would heal the sick ones by the will of Allah SWT but didn’t seek any reward, whose holy mother was slandered, who was accused and crucified at his young age – why should he start his struggle all over? Rather, he deserves to be received as the king. The stage for his kingdom must be set beforehand.

The personality who has been entrusted with the responsibility of preparing the stage for the Messiah is Imam Mahdi A.S., who has the honor of being the son of Muhammad ﷺ – the Final Apostle of Allah, and who has been declared to be Allah’s appointee on Earth (the true assistant of God on the earth).

Hopefully, the esteemed readers now understand the need and role of Imam Mahdi, Jesus Christ, and Antichrist towards the end times.
